1st Austrian Calculus of Variation Day - Social dinner - 1st Austrian Calculus of Variations Day

The social dinner will take place starting from

19:00 on Thursday, October 17th

at the restaurant Stiegl-Ambulanz, located in

Alser Straße 4, Hof 1, 1090 Vienna

inside the campus of the University of Vienna. From the Faculty of Mathematics you have two main options to get to the restaurant:

It takes around 20 - 25 minutes to get there by foot from the Faculty of Mathematics:

take Berggasse from the Faculty of Mathematics in direction west, until the crossing with Währinger Straße (this part of the journey is a bit steep);
from there take Schwarzspanierstraße until Otto-Wagner-Platz;
cross the park (Ostarrichipark);
enter in the campus (see Google Maps directions from the Faculty of Mathematics to the campus);
in the map below, the entrance of the campus is the one on the left, denoted by "Thavonatgasse"; the restaurant is denoted by the code "1.18".

If you come by public transport from the Faculty of Mathematics, you should:

walk for 2 minutes along the first part of Berggasse until the tram stop
Schlickgasse

from there take the tram line D in direction
Hauptbahnhof Ost
;
change after 2 stops in
Schottentor
;
from Schottentor take the tram line 43 or 44 until the second stop, called
Lange Gasse

the tram stop is at the crossing of Alser Straße with Spitalgasse. One of the entrances of the campus is exactly at the beginning of Spitalgasse (see the map). From there, the restaurant (denoted by the code "1.18" in the map below) is 2 minutes by foot.
